A couple of weeks ago, the students from West Brooklyn followed in the faculty's footsteps. They experienced the rural wonder of Ramapo for Children in Rhinebeck, NY. Considering that many of these students had never left NYC, they faired quite well through the many obstacles on the trip. First, they had to arrive at school well before the time that most of the teachers arrive. Then, they had to endure a bus ride that extended to almost 5 hours as a result of considerable traffic delays. There were few complaints about the camp food, and the rain barely affected the students' experience. Overall, the students took almost as much from the experience as the staff had in the months prior.
Of course, it wouldn't be on this blog if there weren't pictures...tons of pictures. I have to give credit to my assistants on this one because they took a serious chunk of the photos. Props to Amairi Garcia, Alma Gloriana, Natalia Ortiz, and Lili Polo. Check out all the photos at www.tinyurl.com/ramapo3
